Hyderabad Pharma City is envisioned as the world’s largest integrated pharmaceutical industrial park. Spread across 19,333 acres in Mucherla, Kandukur Mandal, Ranga Reddy District, Telangana, the project is designed to foster a self-sustained ecosystem for pharmaceutical manufacturing, research, and innovation. It has been granted National Investment and Manufacturing Zone (NIMZ) status and is a major part of Telangana’s vision to become the Life Sciences Capital of India.

Phases of Development:

Phase 1 (2023 – 2026):

Covering 9,212 acres, Phase 1 has already attracted more than 150 major pharmaceutical companies, including Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, Aurobindo Pharma, Hetero Drugs, MSN Labs, and Laurus Labs. Infrastructure development in this phase includes internal roads, dedicated water and power supply, common effluent treatment plants, and townships for employees. Industries are expected to commence operations by 2026.

Phase 2 (2026 – 2029):

In Phase 2, the expansion continues with an additional 5,000 acres. This phase will emphasize advanced biotech, biosimilars, and vaccine production. Plans include the establishment of the Pharma University and enhanced connectivity with the proposed Metro Rail extension.

Phase 3 (2029 and Beyond):

This phase will see the complete development of the remaining areas, focusing on smart technologies and Centers of Excellence for life sciences. It aims to attract more multinational corporations and global collaborations.
